The Jump S.T.A.R.T. Campaign: Giving Veterans a Second Chance
The Jump S.T.A.R.T. Campaign is affording us the opportunity to take donated vehicles that need a little TLC and transform them into safe, reliable vehicles for veterans without transportation.
With Shade Tree Auto and 214LIFE partnering, we’re ready to give local veterans that much-needed “Jump S.T.A.R.T.” to get back on the road to success.
Humble Beginnings and Shared Dedication
Shade Tree Auto began, quite literally, under a shade tree and has since grown into a successful auto repair business serving the Central Iowa community with locations in Urbandale, Grimes, and Ankeny. Meanwhile, 214LIFE was started by a group of Marine veterans who recognized the challenges faced by their peers and took action to make a difference. Through hard work and dedication, both organizations have become pillars of their community, committed to helping others.
Tackling Obstacles Through Reliable Transportation
We understand the challenges of overcoming life’s obstacles, and for many veterans, one of the biggest hurdles is access to reliable transportation. Without it, everyday tasks like getting kids to school, buying groceries, attending work, or making medical appointments become almost impossible. Jump S.T.A.R.T. aims to remove this barrier.
Here’s how it works:
Donated Vehicles: When we receive a donated vehicle, 214LIFE raises funds to purchase the necessary parts for its repair.
Rehabilitation Team: The Shade Tree Automotive Rehabilitation Team volunteers their expertise, facilities, and labor to restore the vehicle, giving it a second life and preparing it for a veteran in need.
